When My Wife Became My Hero

When Allie arrived in the United States, we decided instead of working she would get her degree.

Life is what happens while you’re making other plans.

Soon after her arrival, I lost my job. The following year, we depleted our savings and faced eviction.

Then I slipped and fell down a flight of stairs.

Sitting in the emergency room, I looked at my frightened bride; new to this intimidating city, with no knowledge of English.

Our survival depended on her.

Thus began our nightmare. Her relatives (cousins & aunts) suggested she leave me, then, they stopped communicating with her. My friends disappeared.

We lost everything we owned.

On three occasions we went to bed thinking we would be homeless the next day. All three times as I researched homeless shelters my bride shocked me by finding a temporary job and a place for us…

Deify the obvious. There is only Love!

And love is to be awake. To be awake is to know we don’t need anyone.

For, we are all we need.

It’s as though I’ve  become a magnifying glass for male ego.

But really I am simply a portal for what is missing.

WE all are. And whilst we wonder and search for answers – animals are dying amidst the hate of what went wrong in community.

‘ Lessons ‘ by Tiffany Belle Harper

Life’s a funny old thing. We must know that people may come into our world unexpectedly and leave the same. Often they have the greatest gift.

We learn, we exchange, we thank, we part. We never forget.

For life is a lesson – a blend of all good and bad – yes … there will be mistakes. We learn most by these.

We should use our fondest memories to share love. To forgive, forget and evolve as individuals. To sparkle in our communities. Indeed to turn up, to participate is to shine most vividly.

Less is more. Look out for the quiet people as that’s where you’ll most likely find your next adventures.

Broken hearts heal. Our darkest moments make us stronger. Follow your dreams and remember the last person you think of at night is the one you’ll talk with whilst you sleep. As the moon caresses your spirit for brighter days.

Don’t let anyone make you feel you’re not good enough. Avoid ego, be humble. Most importantly never expect to be appreciated or rewarded. The bigger picture does not miss a thing. So don’t forebode. We’re all loved as much as we are noticed for the good we do. So we must forgive those who cause us pain, they need help most.

Give wishes freely – expect none by return. For magic finds us all, when we believe. Love, gestures and goodwill hide in the most unlikely of nooks and caverns. Slow down … dance with fairies,  ride with lost kings. Let your imagination enjoy the freedom of the unknown.

‘Treasure Love’ by Tiffany Belle Harper

We shouldn’t confuse love for control or insecurity – where it becomes a dependable habit leaving desire untamed.

Love doesn’t ask for sacrifice –  to make us feel uncertain or confused about who we are.

Love is the one thing that should make us feel complete and at one with our passions.

If it doesn’t – keep it simple – move on … Face your fears – let your demons go.

Yes there are hurdles sent to try us but not to such an extent we feel as though life is not worth living.

Our journeys are too precious for mind games. Indeed our souls yearn for more.

Find love … real ‘unconditional’ love and you’ve got the universe in your palms. Don’t drop it for love is sacred.
