Thank you to anyone who bought raffle tickets for my hamper that was auctioned for the #dogbus appeal via Kris. It raised a huge £131 which takes us a step further to getting that bus for the fluffies that need rescuing from council pounds. I am so happy.

Kristyn Adams the founder has given her life rescuing animals and due to down sizing has used her spare time to pioneer the #dogbus appeal nationwide. It’s a huge task doing something like this.
Up and down the country when a dog is found abandoned or lost they are taken to a council pound. Many who abandon pets, believe the dogs will find their way to a rescue and find a new home. It is NOT the case. Most rescues have waiting lists.
The RSPCA have a kill policy where if an animal shows signs of fear i.e. a growl or an act of anxiousness that may appear they are being defensive, in most cases, the dog will be put straight to sleep. While the smaller rescues tend not to have this policy in place – instead working with each pet to restore their trust. So, until they have a space dogs are stuck in pounds.
A dog is kept in a pound for 7 days and if no-one claims the animal it is killed. Hundreds of dogs go into landfill every week. Healthy pets that could be re-homed from these pounds that are hell holes for pets. TBH©
The #dogbus would give animal rescues the opportunity to have a van that could collect several dogs from pounds at one time. The dogs could go into foster or be a lucky pet that finds an available space at a rescue.

What really moves me is her gorgeous little boy Alan the Jug came from a pound himself. He is a darling and brings joy to so many. So let’s help Alan get his friends out of hell and into loving arms fast!

The DogBus will save time – fuel and most importantly the lives of animals. I am going to be trustee to the charity that is currently in its early stages.
Kristyn Adams has built a reputable reputation in the animal welfare and rescue circuits, covering many years of commitment to rescue as a volunteer. Kristyn drives up and down the country using her own car assisting rescues with pick ups and drop offs. She also helps re-home primarily dogs and is a volunteer for a local dog charity in Coventry.
In addition, she is training with St John’s Ambulance and gives her time freely to help with first aid too.
Any funds left-over will be held within the balance for future expense i.e. fuel, upkeep and the next van for the project. A small hire cost may be charged by those who loan the DogBus to purchase the next vehicle. This project is 100% non-profit.
It is Kris’s sole aim to help save lives faster and more effectively. And …. here’s the adorable Kristyn Adams and Alan her precious hound who is always by her side.
We seek generous people to give with open hearts. Also (and equally important) volunteers to help spread the word, assisting us get this off the ground as soon as possible – so that lives can saved in greater volume.
