The Linestrider #Tarot – #Review by Tiffany Belle Harper

Earlier this week I treated myself to The Linestrider Tarot via Amazon. As a tarot lover I enjoy changing my deck periodically as ‘I find’ it helps to rejuvenate tired patterns.

Something about the illustrations compelled me to choose this pack of cards. I’m not disappointed. They’re just stunning. So feminine … delicate yet precise, with intuitive deliverance. Combing nature and our animal kingdom with astrology/numerology. Each card has a selection of plants and herbs that relate – making these great for paganistic and Wicca ways too.

I love the minimalist layout i.e, white background – the reverse being a power blue die splash effect. The cards are smaller than many modern day packs. I like this concept. For me this makes readings more seamless – less clumsy. Many decks being thick and rigid.

The cards are great quality. Each full of symbols, connectives, being abstract yet poignant.

With tarot, we’re drawn to packs that work best with our consciousness. I believe I shall enjoy the new bond with divination the Linestrider Tarot offer.

The pack comes with an absolutely intriguing book. ‘The Linestrider’s Journey.’ So very well presented – offering an easy to navigate description of each card, symbols and base point meaning/s. Also giving examples/variations of how the interpretation could differ set amongst or nesting with other cards in the deck.

Traditional standard of 22 major and 56 minor – so reading methods tarot enthusiasts may possess need not change. If anything … Linestrider are capable of increasing perception. Where we can dip in and out of many whimsical yet conceptual realms to enhance our reading experience. As though there’s new opportunity of the unknown tapping unexplored corners and twists in our dimensional advancement.

Tarot is a way to connect the many myriads of messages available to us as a means of connectives using the elements in every aspect (and beyond…) A deck should always be cleansed, used wisely and without bias, ego or judgement. I have found in the past some illustrations to be too controlling in the suggestive, yet this deck leaves open a gate of insight in a subtle way, thus expanding the opportunity to delve into new areas of the mystic subconscious.

I suppose I’d describe the artwork as a sort of ‘elven’ purity meets ‘Nouveau.’

Well done to Siolo Thompson on your new project. Clearly years of work, love and meditation have gone to this wonderful, fresh new journey. I just had to leave some feedback, as I’m delighted with my new bond. (Pictures used are the samples taken from the homepage of the Linestrider Tarot website.)

A Little Gem #Gardening #Garden #Patio #Upcyle #Recycle

Making good of outdoor space is such a great form of relaxation. Here’s a small garden area created by my son whom is a landscape gardener. He’s taken a corner of his space and lovingly crafted an eclectic mix of nostalgic artifact with ferns, rainbow stones, fossils and annual flowers. The area will be green all year round with a variety of shrubs and florals to give vitality each month of the year. There’s not a lot of cost to this but it takes time.

Also you will see a porcelain BBQ. These are great for cooking all year round. They stay warm for hours longer. Fabulous to sit around when there’s a nip in the air and they save on fossil fuels and energy bills.

Patio Garden

My son’s also added a small pergola and herringbone patio area. The majority of the garden is laid to decking as it was a pub garden in its former life. He’s used old dolly tubs and water tanks to plant up oriental trees.

The icing is the high wall he’s expanded using sourced – up cycled bricks to remain in keeping with the existing wall. He did this himself having no previous experience of brick laying.

It would be fair to say – I’m so proud of ‘all’ my precious family.

My ‘Napolitana Lentils’ and ‘Paella Vine with Almonds’ (Serves 4) #Vegetarian #Recipe by Tiffany Belle Harper

Here’s two Mediterranean – vegetarian dishes that would serve around 4 to 6 people. Or you can make individually, for a lighter lunch or supper for 2 to 4 people…

Napolitana Lentils

You will need:

I/2 cup of red or green lentils

6 roughly chopped tomatoes (or 1 tin of chopped)

1 tablespoon of olive oil (more if required or to taste)

2 chopped cloves of garlic

1 chopped onion

1 teaspoon of chill flakes (not chilli powder)

1/4 cup of capers

Couple of stems of basil or oregano

A handful of black olives and a few broken up pieces of feta or vegan feta to garnish (to taste …)

Cook the lentils according the pack instructions. Drain and set aside.

Heat oil in a large, strong frying pan. Add onion and garlic. Fry until soft. Add tomatoes, capers and lentils. Add hot water to find right texture (avoid letting stick to pan.) Simmer for 10 minutes, stir regularly.

When ready to eat add the feta and olives as top garnish.

Recipe 2:

Paella Vine with Almonds

You will need:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

1 large pinch of saffron thread

1/2 cup of olive oil

Around 10 cherry or small plum tomatoes cut in half

4oz of green beans and 4 oz of peas (frozen is fine)

2 garlic cloves chopped

2 fresh sprigs of rosemary (or basil)

1 1/2 cups of risotto rice

2 vegetable stock cubes dissolved in approx 2 pints of boiling water

1/4 cup of flaked almonds

Pour some hot water on the saffron to infuse.

Use half the oil and fry the courgettes for two minutes. Add the peas and beans, fry together until soft. Add the plum (or cherry) tomatoes, fry with the other vegetables until the tomatoes split open. Put to one side.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Heat the rest of the oil in a separate strong frying pan or saucepan (ideally non-stick.) Add the chopped garlic and saffron. Stir in the risotto rice. Check on the packet of the rice how much time cooking time is required. Add half the stock, stir a couple of times. Heat on full power until there are bubbles popping on the surface. Turn to simmer … Stir again. Stir every 4 to 5 minutes (on simmer.) Keep adding the stock until the juice becomes sticky and the rice is soft but not runny.

When the rice is cooked according to pack instructions (and taste) stir in the cooked vine vegetables and stir (add salt and pepper to taste.) Sprinkle the almonds on the top.

Serve both dishes with a wedge of lemon and hot ciabatta bread.

And here’s both dishes. Takes around an hour to prepare both. I’ll add another photo of them plated up later, when my guests come over for supper (and wine …)

A while later … !! Added a gluten free option (potato no bread)

Worlds Biggest Fridge Magnet's avatarThe worlds biggest fridge magnet

Good Morning World and thanks for tuning in to the penultimate post day here on Planet Magnet. After this post there will be only one more and that won’t be for a couple of weeks as I tell the story of my walk along Britain’s oldest Road.

That means this is post number 499!

Bundesstraße_499_number.svg

Quite an incredible feat but one that I suppose I am quite proud to have achieved.

I have always said that I would share my life with you guys for the next 499 posts, after which I would walk the Ridgeway for the Charity HENRY and make my 500th and final post about that very walk.

It is hard to consider the person I was when I started out on the journey. Some people don’t even recognise me as I have changed so much physically, others don’t recognise me because I have changed so much mentally.
