David Attenborough’s – Animals of Africa and Blue Planet – The Ocean #video #education

Do you show your children about nature and our planet? It is probably more educational than Twitter – Instagram and Facebook where people tend to talk rubbish. We should ask ourselves, are we learning from the accounts we follow and read each day? I know I didn’t when I used to go on there during my time without a job or a home of my own. I was a sponge for it. It got me nowhere whatsoever – but then, I shut the lid. And now things are fine.

a true story about courage – from mum

When my youngest son was a child – all his friends got a part-time job cleaning caravans for a home and garden event. My son didn’t get a reply to his job application. So, he just turned up and started working for the event. When it came to getting paid they said, “you’re not on our books,” he replied “I’ve done the work so I need to get my wages.” He’s now a hugely successful entrepreneur. He walks around covered in paint. He’s got a big property portfolio and he is a compassionate landlord with pride. He has no attitude. He still lives a humble life. I have done some good in this world in that boy. Both my sons are true darlings. My eldest son is an interior designer – gardener – artist. He brightens the community. I am a very, very proud Mum! X

Happy Mothers Day to parents and guardians!

I know it’s a bit strange but each Mothers Day I think about child birth. I gave birth to both my sons naturally. I must have been a glutton for punishment. But I actually enjoyed the pain. I guess it woke me up! At the point of birth, they were ugly sods. Especially my youngest. He somehow broke his nose on the way out and I thought he’d never recover.

When the doctor visited me at home, he said, “a funny looking little thing, isn’t he?”

My GP was a friend of mine and knew I had dry wit. Although, I didn’t find the remark funny – suddenly becoming hugely protective of my baby that ‘really did’ resemble a baby vampire.

“Actually, I believe he’s the most beautiful creature I have ever seen.” I replied. It was at that point I over looked his widows peak and bent nose. A couple of days later he was all perfect and his snout went where it should – thank you nature! But anyway, I’d have loved him no less. Both my sons are beautiful and flawless to me. Mum. X

friendship #diary

Had a couple of emails from Kat and Kate – seems a lot of us are feeling out of sorts at the moment. It’s part of life – we have blips. And when things seem tough – we are learning most. It is about working together – not driving people apart. It takes courage to wear your heart on your sleeve. I believe being open and showing who we really are is the greatest way to reach out to others who may be suffering in silence. There’s no such thing as the perfect life.
