Begging the Question: Commentating depression and OCD in a frank and ‘deeply’ creative way. An artistic, viewpoint in book form by writer and poet Sherwyn Jellico who also illustrated and edited his first book, ‘Begging the Question.’

Begging the Question is available now on Kindle. Here’s my review via Amazon.

[A deep and somewhat tangled look at the complexity of the human mind. Coupled (or tripled, even) with a sense of frustration that ignites with a genius and controversial take on many digressions the brain and subconscious will take throughout various stages during our lives. I believe ‘we’ all experience segments of this thought provoking journal of mind and expansive expression. While many may be in denial, Sherwyn Jellico nails the conditions he describes with an openness together with a ‘quirky’ and definitely off-beat gift of words.

‘Begging the Question’ an educational insight into the ‘prime’ awkwardness created by today’s expectations within ‘aged’ establishments that deem those not of ‘mainstream’ unworthy or obscure. Fascinating read. One of those manuscripts you can open on any page and find a new journey within wit and obvious sorrow. Begging the Question doesn’t tackle resolve but more a revelation that I find refreshing. We sometimes need to share and not to preach. To listen and absorb. I have found this educational, particularly for my well-being groups that I host where I try to approach with alternative methods. One of which being, ‘to listen – to learn – to grow.’]

You can download ‘Begging the Question by Sherwyn Jellico via Amazon HERE. It’s currently £3.00 a copy. This post is not an advertisement or endorsement. I purchased the book as it’s useful for the work I do as an Alternative Therapist. I love all things unconventional, stepping out the box if it comes from passion and truth.

‘A Trivial Pain’ by Tiffany Belle Harper

A trivial pain compared to those that suffer more than this … tooth extraction. Was a crown, root removed soon to be a bridge. My silly left tooth now a gap, awaits something better so I can feel happy enough to smile like others do more liberally.

I turn on the radio. Radio 4 to be exact. I hear a story of a woman far worse than me who discovers she has leukemia. So young, her life taken shortly. How brave as she spoke of pain – her desire to be in the now. To relinquish the past and void the future. Her strength – spirituality – knowing the soul is infinite, never suffering. Her beacon of eternal light.

I searched to find her on the internet so I could listen again. But really I knew, I didn’t need to. You see, I often do that, makes notes, reflect. I hear a song and kick myself for not recalling the artist.

What if I am out having dinner and they ask for my favorite song, film … I blush, I can’t think of one fast enough. When really, there are so many … I seldom recall. I’d rather enjoy the new. The moment. The glory of spotting a piece of small architecture like a marble crow on a bridge, crowning a historical plaque.

Or the sun captured branches of leaf riddled trees in orange, yellow, then, flashes of tan to darkest polished brown.

So as my mouth unfreezes from anesthetic once more. I embrace a little pain. I send it to those who feel it more. I send them light darting through branches and bridges of historical value amidst city lights against a pink and dirty gray skyline.

To accompany at dinner she had promised!

An evening together never to be missed

Meet you at sharp Six she had exclaimed

At the resort, heaven for lovers, all proclaimed

Eager as hell and were they enthused

To be with each other in body soul and mind.

She wore her red gown, Looking like bride.

He was in his black suit, Gentleman of pride.

He gifted her flowers, To make Her smile wide.

He had an another gift, But needed to hide.

In the car, to the resort, She sat by his side.

Romantic Eve, dinner and gifts, Nothing to avoid.

They reached at the resort, It was like heaven.

They entered and Sat on table number seven.

The delicious food was there, As the order was given.

Melodious music was there, And lights were beautiful even.

‘Treasure Love’ by Tiffany Belle Harper

We shouldn’t confuse love for control or insecurity – where it becomes a dependable habit leaving desire untamed.

Love doesn’t ask for sacrifice –  to make us feel uncertain or confused about who we are.

Love is the one thing that should make us feel complete and at one with our passions.

If it doesn’t – keep it simple – move on … Face your fears – let your demons go.

Yes there are hurdles sent to try us but not to such an extent we feel as though life is not worth living.

Our journeys are too precious for mind games. Indeed our souls yearn for more.

Find love … real ‘unconditional’ love and you’ve got the universe in your palms. Don’t drop it for love is sacred.

‘Hold love Tight’ for it never stops leading the way by Tiffany Belle Harper

Those who embrace the gift of love will know it does not come easy.

For love has its hurdles, just like ‘nature’ it can be cruel with purpose.

Love can mislead us, leaving us dazed – confused and often baffled …

But it is Love that is greatest master and teacher.

Yes it is love that explores our own vulnerability and depth.

The biggest hurdles are with heart – yet our our most precious rewards.

So for the days we feel lost in love we are simply lost in ‘self.’

And it is love that helps us find our way again – let it in, for it’s yours!

Love is friendship, trust and clarity – all for the good of our inner growth.

Fnd harmony with the moon and the sun as they dance for our salvation.
