Retreat for February #diary Live like no-one is watching. It’s a good place.

I drive back to Yorkshire today to tie up loose ends. Then I am preparing to travel to the North of Yorkshire late Monday for two weeks of silent meditation and a diet of fruit and water. I’m winding down ….

It’s a great way to detox the mind, body and soul. It will be gruelling as I will be sitting still for up to 20 hours a day – but, I do enjoy putting myself through periodic sessions of inner cleansing and inward solitude.

I’m going to a good place with other ‘nomadic’ types that travel from all over the world for this. I feel privileged to be a part of such a great journey.  For others who meditate, tune in, we can find each other and send peace to the tougher situations the world is currently facing.

I know that silent transmissions of love and abundance can be heard more than anything else. There is love everywhere. Spending too much time online or in chaotic situations can take us away from our destiny and purpose.

On my return I will be busy and amongst other things I wish to pursue my part-time hobby of writing from heart, with complete passion.

As an openly spiritual personal I am aware I have some ‘negative’ energy attached to me that will spiral out of control unless I relinquish it in a safe environment. This is all  part of the circle of life and ‘we’ as individuals have to recognise how to balance the impact of such things. We do this with a direct connection with the divine – I call it ‘chi.’

I’ll be back in March with new material. I love everyone, I love haters, perpetrators and those who have inset resentment. I want to love you as much as you should love your ‘self.’ It starts with forgiveness, If you can forgive,  your lives will be purposeful for the right reasons. Colours more vivid, simpler things appeal – you will be awake and it’s a beautiful place to co-exist and create. join me! Start today and live like no-one is watching.

UKRescueConnect and Family Day #diary

Positive day of movement. I feel lighter weather on the way, although, we’re in for a few storms, variety is the spice of nature!

My eldest son bought a new car – he’s gone for a Skoda. There’s stigma attached to this make – but… really, if anyone is interested in a new car – you get all the high specs for a fraction of the price and the performance is highly rated. He’s having the Octavia. It’s done less than 25k miles, immaculate condition and around 8k cheaper than a brand new version. Tick – Tick – Tick! (I really embarrassed him in the showroom. I was a bit over-protective.) He’s also invested in his first juicer … and bought a load of fruit and vegetables. He promises he will change his diet!

Then … my youngest son has rented the first floor flat on his property. He’s a stunning landlord and really cares for his tenants. I am proud of his compassion. I am missing him and need to see him soon.

I was going to sell my home to buy a business. I am not, I shall keep my house and also have the business. This gives me stability. I feel really comfortable with my decision. I will still be visiting different regions of the UK as I will recruit a couple of people to help out with my little cafe/bisto when it’s all done.  Everything’s falling into place. Also, my sons may invest with me and I’ve had another couple of offers. But at this stage my focus is to do this alone. In the future as I expand out I will consider my options! Miss Stubborn here …

Finally … I am bringing news soon of a charity we adore in Leeds that support the homeless. We’ve a meeting on Monday, so let’s see what we can do. We will bring more shortly. I really want to get everyone involved to participate with helping the vulnerable in society. We will also be doing something more tangible for a London based charity for the homeless, in due course.

UkRescueConnect will help around 5 causes/appeals/charities at any one time. It’s something we’ll be doing in our spare time, as a means to give back to the hub of communities that do so much and need a bit of help. It’s about the cycle of giving, receiving and helping where we can. At this point we will be working mainly Friday’s and some time throughout weekends – purely as volunteers and all donations go directly to the causes.

The Road to Freedom – #DogBus Project – Dogs, Cats and animals facing death in shelters UK.

The DogBus Project founded by Kristyn Adams is an appeal to raise funds for its first pet transportation that can hold over 10 crates that will transport healthy animals from kill shelters around the UK to safety. The DogBus can also be used for general hire by ALL rescues and pet transportation services in the UK. Please take a couple of precious minutes to read this full article. WE NEED YOU!

The DogBus will save time – fuel and most importantly the lives of animals. I am going to be trustee to the charity that is currently in its early stages.

Kristyn Adams has built a reputable reputation in the animal welfare and rescue circuits, covering many years of commitment to rescue as a volunteer. Kristyn drives up and down the country using her own car assisting rescues with pick ups and drop offs. She also helps re-home primarily dogs and is a volunteer for a local dog charity in Coventry.

In addition, she is training with St John’s Ambulance and gives her time freely to help with first aid too.

It is Kristyn’s goal to achieve the full funds for the first vehicle and as time grows to create a fleet of van’s to assist rescues and rescuers/transporters, all over the UK.

Any funds left-over will be held within the balance for future expense i.e. fuel, upkeep and the next van for the project. A small hire cost may be charged by those who loan the DogBus to purchase the next vehicle. This project is 100% non-profit.

It is Kris’s sole aim to help save lives faster and more effectively. And …. here’s the adorable Kristyn Adams and Alan her  precious hound who is always by her side.

We seek generous people to give with open hearts. Also (and equally important) volunteers to help spread the word, assisting us get this off the ground as soon as possible – so that lives can saved in greater volume.

Great! Let’s get started with the van. Cost 14K then we as a collective of animal lovers can raise further funds for the fittings, crates and insurance etc. This means raising funds in 3 tiers as above displayed in links.

To donate for the van please click here. (Every penny counts.) You may donate anonymously if you prefer.

We respect your privacy and all contact is treated as confidential. PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT ACCEPT FUNDS FOR DOGBUS. ALL DONATIONS MUST GO DIRECTLY TO THE PROJECT.

We will endeavour to keep you updated with progress of The DogBus Project step by step. This is an opportunity for all to get involved and enjoy seeing images and news of the progress made for animal welfare up and down the UK via social media! Stay close – stay tuned!

If you are in a good financial position please dig deep. Do something wonderful for the animals. This is primarily for dogs but without exception the bus can hold crates for cats, smaller critters and used as space for small breeds too. The possibilities are limitless.

I am really excited about this. I too will be a volunteer. I will drive the DogBus and help Kris all I can in my spare time. Thank you so much in advance. Kindness really does make our lives more worthwhile. There’s nothing more rewarding than reaching out and helping the less fortunate. Be a voice for the voiceless. I know we can ALL DO THIS. It may take time but there is a goal, an objective. Lives to be saved. Please do help. Spread the news. Rescues all over the UK are in desperate need of the DogBus. This is a NON-PROFIT venture. You have peace of mind knowing that every single penny you donate goes to help dogs and other species like the ones in the photograph below of Kristyn’s own car!

Let’s join together and give them a Road to Freedom!

Angel #GuestBlog by One of my Dearest Friends

Such a beautiful memoir of how one of my very closest friends Romana became an animal advocate. I would do anything for this woman.

My journey towards Todd’s Welfare Society is not one that I planned or even ever thought about.  A dog by the name of Angel is the reason that today I am part of this wonderful organisation and even though I have never met Angel or am ever likely to do so, I am eternally grateful to Angel for she has truly changed my life.

Sitting on YouTube one evening a particular video caught my eye and that was of Angel, a dog that had been deliberately starved.  As I watched her recovery the pain and guilt that I felt had no bounds.  This was a dog that had been starved by a foster carer who had ample of food stock in the house.  The wonderful rescue team ‘Rescue from the Hart’ helped Angel to recover and I am pleased to say that today Angel is healthy and in a loving forever home.

#diary Car -Ladies Day and Nieces

I’ve had a lovely day. Firstly I held my monthly ladies group here in Leeds. (I’ve one in Warwickshire also.) I did have a schedule of things to discuss but we decided to just chat about whatever cropped up. The theme of things became cooking! Food is such a broad and uncomplicated subject. I actually find peace when I’m baking. Food really does taste better when it’s home cooked.

I do get sad when people do ‘ping’ food from the microwave. I always say, ‘if you’re going to eat – make it a feast of pleasure.’ There’s so much we can do with fruit and vegetables in way of juicing, casseroles and world cuisine. I also love fish dishes. I probably cook with sea-bass and salmon most. YUM! But I do create meat dishes for friends and family. I’m not precious about my own eating habits to such an extent I push them on others. I do endorse the natural food chain. Genuinely farm assured meat etc. And I admit to having a steak now and again as a treat. Probably half a dozen times a year.

I do have to watch myself though as I can become over zealous with cake and potatoes. I don’t believe in dieting as it’s a form of deprivation but I know there’s a balance between health and body mass. (Note to self: eat less, do more …)

I’ve got a new car! It’s been a tough bloody time since Christmas as I’ve received awful treatment from Evans Halshaw, to such a degree it’s too raw to write about at the moment. I will have to digest it. I know I’ve had back-up if needed but it’s the principle.

I’ve actually chosen a Nissan. My first ever car was one and I loved it! I’ve got all the extras I want. I’ve had an automatic, leather seats etc. I could have chose a make that had a more ‘sassy’ branding but it’s about quality not stigma. The reason in particular for a Nissan is the garage I’ve used are brilliant. I used to take my former vehicle there until they changed from Hyundai to Nissan which led me to go to Evans Halshaw for the repair on my truck. My new car has done less than 2K miles and because it’s not brand new it’s 5k cheaper. So, basically – I’ve all the modern specs free I suppose. Really bloody chuffed! I don’t do expensive very often but I admit to loving a reliable car. And of course, nice eateries. As for furniture/decor and clothes I love to revamp things myself.

I pick the car up at the end of the week and will have my wings once more! Then I’m off to Warwick and then London for a couple of days, to visit friends.

Also, I took my nieces to see Dick Whittington at The Hippodrome over Xmas and it was bloody amazing – if any of you happen to be in Birmingham and get the opportunity, go see it. Great cast and effects. Here’s a pic of the girls. Can’t wait to see them again. They’re growing up so quickly. Aunty Sue would be so very proud. Sure she’s watching over all of us. Just look at their little faces. I simply adore them and of course my sons, my darlings. All of them. My heart!

Finally, Foley was 21 at Xmas. Special hound! He has two teeth out tomorrow, bit nervous for him. The vet is charging £400 – shocking !! He’s never really done vets much but … it’s worth it. Now he’s getting older it will be more necessary I guess? I just think he is an amazing boy. I can’t imagine life without him.
