I didn’t do it – honest …

Evie Blossom.
This is not a good day. I’m writing my book and reliving parts of the past I’d forgot. I’m preparing to drive back to Leeds. I arrived in Warwickshire with Foley who was well. He had a wet nose, healthy appetite and could still run around in the park.
I’m driving home without him. I know ‘especially taking the horrid happenings in the world to account’ it may seem dramatic. But I loved him so much. He was a daily part of all that I did. Driving back to Yorkshire without my best friend is going to hurt. He was innocent, harmless, so pure and forgiving. An unconditional friend that loved me no matter what.
Today, I’ve just felt down in the dumps. I tell myself how must the family feel of the lady who was killed in London by senseless murderers. She’d just taken her two children to school. How must that family feel as they prepare for their first weekend without the heart of their family. This just makes it all worse.
There is kindness and unity everywhere. Yet, we must not forget the suffering. I really do wish people would value all aspects of life. Non of us are here to kill or harm through acts of malice and resentment.
I just wish I could have another day with Foley. Just to stroke him and tell him how things are. But, writing this book is a release. It’s funny, emotional and very frankful. I do love to write. I equally miss Foley. Just not knowing he’s lying by my feet or sitting in the back of the car. Waiting at the door for me to come home. Sitting by me as I cook. Running ahead of me through woodlands and fields.
It’s just not the same anymore and I can’t cheer myself up today. I’ve always tried to inspire and it often meets brick walls. Yet I suppose some days there’s nothing wrong to admitting it’s fine to not feel happy.
Angel hasn’t got off the window ledge since he passed. I’m sure she’s waiting for him to come back. Her last memory was him being taken away wrapped in his blanket to be cremated. She doesn’t understand. Yet, I do know that a part of him is very much with us. It’s only human to feel this pain I suppose. Most days are fine, then I get one like this when my heart just breaks open. 21 years is going to take time to recover. He was so beautiful in all ways. Sigh.

Fast asleep on my legs, is Foley, such a darling. My son’s can’t remember life without him. He’s living his 21st year. (He was 20 at xmas – December 29th to be precise.) A miracle, truly, he is. What a boy … so proud xx
Below is my ‘non-photogenic’ startled bunny look with my dog ‘Foley’ …(memories for my family …)

We are appealing on behalf of ‘LARWP’ aka ‘The League of Animal Rescue – Romania. You may be aware that Romania has enforced a stray dog cull that commenced in October 2013. Where it’s become legal to kill cats and dogs not on private land.
The consequences have been overwhelmingly cruel. Where the ASPA dog killers are killing dogs (in particular) in the most savage and aggressive ways possible, in full view of the public to include children.
The screams of dogs are part of day to day life in Romania’s entirety. Bucharest (the capital is governed by the corrupt and vile Mayor ‘Sorin Oprescu’ who as far as I am aware has recently been arrested pending an enquiry into bribery. LONG OVER DUE! The Mayor taking funds to spay and neuter dogs then paying dog catchers to kill them instead. They’re often beaten to death or their hearts are injected with poison. Pounds are also full of dogs waiting to die. It’s awful.
This corrupt gang of Bucharest are doing this to make ‘big’ money, as there is a price on the head of each dog killed. It’s a barbarian and preposterous sanction of this day and time. Bringing the community of animal lovers to its knees in despair, where many have campaigned and donated funds to ease the situation. The dog culling takes place throughout Romania. The cruelty is rampant.
Rescued Pup now Safe!
As part of a network of animal rescuers I have teamed up with The Animal Team to raise funds for a very special charity in Romania. They’re comparatively new, setting up a Registered Charity during 2014. Where Marius has turned his home and land in to a safe haven for Romanian street dogs. This charity relies on donations to provide housing and food for the many dogs in need of safety.
With limited funds, time and web knowledge to get the word out via Social Media, they rely on support from all of us collectively.
We are trying to raise funds for Marius to have kennels on his land so that he can re-home more dogs and continue to offer sanctuary for his existing hounds. The cold weather is on its way and they are trusting on us to support their mission.
Before and After Photo’s of The Work The League of Animal Rescue must continue…
Marius lives with his family, their home a haven for many dogs that ‘for now’ are safe. UK rescuers are desperately trying to help the situation. A new charity, registered last year. They are one of the few registered organizations in Romania. They keep up to date with their paperwork and ensure their methods meet all standards. The dogs are loved and cared for in a family environment.
One lady has already kindly paid for four kennels that are purchased directly in Romania making it fairly simple to get them delivered to ‘The League of Animal Rescue.’
These are insulated kennels that they desperately need for the cold winter months ahead to continue housing the dogs securely.
The Animal Team travel out to see Marius to provide other essentials for the dogs, food, blankets etc. They are hands on with The League of Animal Rescue and validate the authenticity of this compassionate and essential sanctuary for the street dogs that would otherwise face a cruel death.
I am appealing to you to please donate directly to The League of Animal Rescue (All links at foot of page.) Please I urge you to help Marius and his family who are sincerely dedicated to saving the lives of dogs. They are sincere and totally committed to getting the street dogs of Romania safe.
The League of Animal Rescue need around 15 kennels to keep the dogs warm. The cost of four is around £430.00. We’d love to buy these in batches to get this moving. I know we are facing hard economic times and there are so many causes that are relying on donations. But I beg you to please give this your consideration. They’ve nothing without our support.
All of the dogs are spayed/neutered and treated before adoption. Dogs can be adopted in the UK too. They’re desperate for forever, loving homes. All of the details and some of the dogs are on the website.
Supporting smaller Animal Rescue is crucial. They need our time and money the most. Please always look out for those who need help and maybe cannot get online. We can be their voice.
Thank you in advance on behalf of me and The Animal Team for supporting The League of Animal Rescue. They will be happy to provide you with a receipt for your donations. To donate is simple. Please donate directly to the charity using the links below. They are quite active on Facebook too so please hook up with them there to see lots of the lovely dogs available for adoption.

An added bonus to meet ‘Lisa Garner’ (owner of pet boutique Little Pooch) who’s been a long standing online companion. We’ve supported many of the same causes yet never actually collided. I commend the work that Lisa does and it was a joy to be invited to her home to meet her entourage of fluffy ones.
Lisa has adopted a little pooch named Annabelle, whom she found at a rescue whilst helping out a friend. Annabelle was an ex puppy mill dog and her story broke my heart.
Found huddled in a cage at rescue, trembling. She’d spent the first years of her life in a crate so small her back was arched. She’d never been handled or experienced ordinary life as a dog with love. She’d been continually bred and fortunate to have found her way to rescue. Many breeding animals are destroyed when they are surplus to requirements.
Here’s me and Lisa with Annabelle and her gorgeous hounds. She’s only been held by people for 3 months having spent 7 years in a cage not big enough for her. How awful dogs are left to suffer this way. Simply wrong. But a happy ending here. She is a darling!
Annabelle has quickly adapted to her new home with her extended family. Lisa telling me that she’s like a new dog by comparison to her former self. The other dogs are very protective of Annabelle. She won’t let Lisa out of her sight. They’ve formed such a special love bond. When she is handled the look on her face is a mixture of joy and bewilderment as she’s not experienced being held/cuddled before now.
She’s fairly new to Lisa’s tribe only been away from cages for around 3 months.
Lisa has another dog that I’ve fallen for whose won the heart of thousands and is quite the star. Lucy the rescue Cavalier. Lucy is epileptic and relies on medication, not good on her feet. She is the most loving tiny hound I’ve come across. She will stumble across the floor to get on your lap for a bit of love and makes the cutest sqeeky noises.
Lucy is tiny for her breed. Her page must have been so confined she wasn’t able to grow. It’s all so sad and shocking yet adorable Lucy has a happy ending.
Pictured above is the little princess with her sad tale.
Lucy Cavalier has her own Facebook page where all of the hounds are mentioned and there’s little film snippets and pictures of their daily life too. Many tell Lisa that she brings joy to their day with her pet tales and uplifting chit chat.
One lady telling Lisa that due to having cancer she is not able to keep her own pets so the Lucy Cavalier Facebook page is a heart line for her. Pets are indeed perfect for therapy on so many levels. Links to this at the foot of the page.
Lisa raises money for causes and has composed her own book about Lucy that has already sold over 200 copies without any outside support or advertising. Plus Lisa designs and manufacturers her own calendar’s each year featuring Lucy Cavalier. Lisa told me that she gives all of the profits directly to the causes that she supports without making any personal gain for herself. A refreshing circumstance.
Lisa does a lot of fundraising for PupAid a large organisation that raises awareness against cruel Puppy Farming. Please take a look at what they do further below. Pupaid host an annual event at Primrose Hill in London. Stay tuned!
It was lovely to meet Lisa in person after all these years of chatting online. I wasn’t disappointed. She’s a treasure to the animal kingdom. Lisa has also run celebrity auctions for Wetnose Animal Aid and helped us raise awareness. I’m a volunteer at Wetnose Animal Aid supporting Andrea Gamby-Boulger. Our aim to raise money so that we can help smaller animal rescues who need us. Regardless of where in the world they are, so please look at our website to find out more.
